BAGNI DI PISA JOINS THE LEADING HOTELS OF THE WORLD
With its renovation work complete, and having been awarded its fifth star, the
S.Giuliano Terme Hotel can now boast the prestigious international luxury hotel
trademark.
Furthermore the thermal baths will soon be included among the highly select Leading
Spas.
September 2008
From its headquarters in New York, The Leading hotels of the World have officially
announced that Bagni di Pisa Natural Spa Resort – now a five-star establishment after recently completing its renovation work
– has passed its quality inspection with flying colours and can now take its rightful
place among some of the finest luxury hotels in the world as a Leading Small Hotel of the World.
After carrying out a series of in-depth “in incognito” spot checks in the hotel's
various operational departments, the brand's inspectors confirmed its complete
and absolute compatibility with Leading's standards of excellence. Such status
has already been bestowed on Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort of S.Casciano dei Bagni,
which also belongs to STB (Società Terme & Benessere), together with Bagni
di Pisa and Grotta Giusti of Monsummano Terme.
And that is not all. The hotel's health farm, Bagni di Ponente – which together
with the spa baths of Bagni di Levante constitutes one of the best equipped complexes
in Italy – is about to become a Leading Spa, or rather one of the most exclusive
health spas in the world, selected by Leading Hotels according to as many as 200
specific quality criteria.
The ancient Palazzo dei Granduchi di Lorena in San Giuliano Terme has now become
an essential reference point for luxury tourism in Tuscany, particularly in the
Versilia area.
With a total of 70 rooms and suites, splendid frescoed ceilings, luxurious furnishings,
sumptuous halls and the porticoes of the Cafè House on the hill, as well as its
natural thermal cave, the Hammam of the Grand Dukes, Bagni di Pisa has been restored
to its former glories, when it was an “exclusive retreat of dalliance and delight”.
Indeed, in centuries past, it was a meeting point for international nobility and
was one of the three most important health spas in Europe together with Bath and
Baden Baden.

Living With Water
We should always listen to our body.
Often we forget to do this and so the stress and demands of day to day life rovoke
a negative influence on our health.
We must ensure that we make time for ourselves, the only real possession, which
is becoming more and more precious.
With this in mind Bagni di Pisa has thought up two programmes to dedicate to
urselves, driven by a "healthy" egoism.
Programmes which take you back to childhood, or even further, back to the fetal
state. "Living with Water", three day and seven day programmes.
Water meaning clarity and life, from which everything stems and from which we
must begin again. Watsu and Water Dance to rediscover ourselves, energising massage
with green tea for new energy, or, for complete abandonment, holistic massage.
And again, morning water exercises, Turkish bath and lots of physical exercise.
Bagni di Pisa, the taste of history
An oasis is reborn: this is the latest Tuscan resort of the STB Group. A glorious
18th Century residence restored to its former splendour. Frescoed ceilings and
a view of the world's most famous tower, just a few kilometres from the sea. The
noble spas of the Asburgo Lorena have today become the perfect place in which
to forget stress, relive history and rediscover nature.
The Granduca's Hammam - timeless wellbeing in an enchanting atmosphere. Watsu
in thermal water, the element of life, for a profound relaxation of body and mind.
Personalised movements and energetic awakening through the oriental philosophy
of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
