During the three-day visit to Tuscany, which saw His Holiness engaged in meetings and conferences throughout the region—including a keynote lecture at the University of Pisa, where he was awarded an honorary degree in Clinical and Health Psychology—Bagni di Pisa served as the headquarters for the Dalai Lama, his organizational entourage, and Richard Gere.
